CR 4 USP
Zinc oxide
Western Reserve Chemical
ï

White powder; 99.9% passes through 325 mesh; sp. gr. 5.6; 99.9% zinc oxide; heavy metal content, carbonate content and alakalinity pass USP tests.

Activator; meets USP specifications.

CR 41
Zinc oxide
Western Reserve Chemical
ï

White powder; 99.9% passes through 325 mesh; sp. gr. 5.6; 99.9% zinc oxide; surface area 6 m2/g.

Fine particle size, fast curing.

HTR
Zinc oxide
Hydro Technologies (Canada)
ï

High surface area ZnO; BET 30 m2; sp.gr. 5.6; cream to off-white powder; zinc content >97%; Pb content <25 ppm

Slightly lower in surface area than HT Active; highly dispersible zinc oxide especially suited for semi-transparent and latex compounds; its higher activity benefits compounds with reduced zinc oxide content; when used at higher levels, improves compression set, crosslink density and reduces cure time.

Activator in sulfur based cure systems and a vulcanizer for halobutyl rubbers

Struktol WB 700A
Zinc oxide 91%; dispersing agent 9%
Struktol Company of America, LLC
ï

Specific gravity: 3.85; bulk density: 1,200; ash content: 91%; appearance: non-dusting powder

A non-dusting powder and is preferably used, where high amounts of dispersing agents are undesirable; shorter mixing time can be achieved compared to powered zinc oxide due to faster incorporation and the temperature of the compound is increased only slightly, which is an advantage in scorchy stocks; can be used in small dosages due to the uniform dispersion of the zinc oxide; formation of agglomerates, variations of the physical values and brittleness of the vulcanized rubber are reduced; physical properties of the vulcanizates are improved, especially after aging.

Zic-Stick '85'
Zinc oxide dispersion
Rhein Chemie Corporation
ï

Sp.gr. 3.66; zinc oxide content approx 90%; very fine dispersion of highly active zinc oxide

Activator for NR and SRs; vulcanizer for polychloroprene and other halogenated elastomers; superior activity coupled with rapid complete incorporation enables 3 parts of Zic Stick 85 to replace 5 parts of zinc oxide powder in most applications.
