Searching for an Item on RubberWorld.com
The search engine built within RubberWorld.com is a full-text search engine that supports Boolean searches. Although sometimes confusing, learning the necessary syntax and keywords will help you find the items you need.
You do not need to use any special punctuation (such as quotes) or commands to search for a phrase. Simply enter the phrase the way it ordinarily appears. You can use a phrase anywhere in a search request.
For example, when searching for rubber technical magazines, entering 'rubber technical magazine' in the text box and clicking search will show all items with the words you entered, in order with exact spelling.
Where just phrase searching is not enough, the phrases can be connected together by a connector. If you use more than one connector, you should use parentheses to indicate precisely what you want to search for. For example, rubber and technical or magazines could mean (rubber and technical) or magazines, or it could mean rubber and (technical or magazines).
AND Connector
Use the AND connector in a search request to connect two phrases, both of which must be found in any item retrieved. For example, 'rubber and technical' would retrieve any document that contains both rubber and technical.
OR Connector
Use the OR connector in a search request to connect two expressions, at least one of which must be found in any document retrieved. For example, 'rubber or technical' would retrieve any document that contains rubber, technical, or both.
NOT Connector
Use NOT in front of any phrase to reverse its meaning. This allows you to exclude items from a search. For example 'rubber and not technical' returns all items with rubber and without technical
NOT standing alone can be the start of a search request. For example, 'not technical' would retrieve all items that did not contain technical.
If NOT is not the first connector in a search, you need to use either AND or OR with NOT. For example, 'rubber or not technical.'
